Australia's powder snow capital, Hotham Alpine Resort operates all year round and is located in the Australian Alpine National Park only 4.5 hours drive from Melbourne and 8 hours from Sydney. Hotham is Victoria's highest ski resort and boasts some of the most demanding alpine terrain in Australia.

Mt Hotham is a unique alpine resort which is accessible by road from both Harrietville in the Ovens Valley (North East Victoria) and Omeo in Gippsland. The drive along the Ovens Valley through the picturesque towns of Myrtleford, Bright and Harrietville is beautiful, with the ascent from this side of the mountain one of the most spectacular alpine driving experiences in Australia.

Serviced by its own airport Hotham gives you the chance to fly in and out from the resort, saving you lots of time and hassle, when you charter your own plane (complete with a professional and experienced pilot) directly into the resort on your own scheldule.

Unlike many alpine resorts, Hotham's village is not located at the bottom of the hill. Rather it is perched in the middle of the terrain with ski lifts and trails rising and falling from the Village Centre and Davenport Village areas. Hotham is very well serviced by a free bus shuttle service to assist visitors to transit around the resort after a long day riding Australia's steepest alpine terrain.

On snow services include supermarkets, bars, restaurants, ski hire, ticket outlets and retail outlets at each of the three village areas of Hotham Central, Davenport Village and Dinner Plain.

In the winter you can easily enjoy everything the resort has to offer with on and off mountain accommodation at Hotham or Dinner Plain, which is a luxurious alpine village only 10 km from the resort.

The accommodation available to book includes self-contained apartments, chalets, lodges and motel style rooms that are suitable for singles, couples groups or families. Many of the local ski clubs are managed by mountain staff and year in year out colourful local identities. Try staying at a private ski club to gain an insight into the true mountain spirit and where all the best pockets of powder will be after the next snow storm.
